Where has the time gone?

Ok...So this seems to be a common thread with my blog post over the last few months! I just haven't found the time or had the time to blog! I feel bad but hopefully that will change!

Today is the first day of life with out CORPORATE AMERICA! Yep...I am all done with the Fairmont and I am doing A Savvy Event now full time! So far so good! Just booked a wedding today! :) So things are going so far so good!

I am now 27 weeks pregnant! WOW...where has the time gone?
The baby and I are doing really well! I feel great and so far nothing really to complain about except being tired, getting up 3-5 times in the night to use the restroom and my back starts to hurt if I am on my feet too long! All of which can be expected when you are pregnant so I have to thank GOD that I have had such an easy pregnancy and my biggest complaints..really aren't much to complain about!

We just found out we are moving! We are moving into a bigger house that the baby will now have it's own room! :) Yeah..this means I can actually start working on a nursery once we get settled! The house is really cute! I will post photos soon! It is in Sonoma and not to far from where we live now! We are so excited to be staying in Sonoma as we really love it here! We love the community and we love that it is small but still has so much to offer! I am even more excited to walk to the Farmer's Markets next summer with baby in tow on Tuesday nights!!! :)

We still aren't finding out what we are having and I really don't have a feeling one way or another! I wish I could say I feel like it is a "boy" or "girl" but really I am just in AWE that there is a baby growing inside of me and that in 3 months Nick and I are going to be parents! I can't imagine how are lives are going to change and what it is going to be like to have a son or daughter? I am getting really excited!!!

I feel the baby all the time! Cutie loves to be active during the middle of the night especially around 4am and cutie keeps me up with his/her activity! :) I just wonder what he or she is doing in there! I love it when I feel cutie through out the day too! It makes me stop and think wow wee...what was that?

The last couple of weeks have been really fun because I have spent the last two weekends with my bestest friend in the whole wide world!!! Emily, Travis & Hannah moved to California 4 months ago and I have been so busy I have barely seen them but in the last 2 weeks I have had dinner with them at there new home in Dublin, California and it has been so fun! Last night we celebrated Travis's 40th Birthday with a fabulous dinner!~ Hannah is getting so big and she is so much fun to be around! I feel so greatful that I live so close to Em and her family and it truly has been our dream since she went away to college! I know she would love it and so would I if we were next door neighbors but I will take the hour and 15minute drive over being in different states! I know we are going to get to spend so much more time together over the years and I am so happy we live so close and hopefully our children will have a friendship just like ours!!!

I love what I do!!

Yesterday I had the great pleasure to work with my business partner Emarie on the most amazing wedding I had ever seen! It was like it was right out of a Hollywood Movie!!!
It was unbelievable! We brought in one of our dear friends and favorite wedding planners Brooke Menconi to help us as this was a pretty huge event that entailed a week of set up! Brooke was amazing and a God Sent! I couldn't have done it without her! I also brought in my old co-worker Jill to help! We seriously had the dream team yesterday!

You know last week was a difficult week for me in so many ways! Work at The Fairmont has been extremely challenging and I was just getting so frustrated and wondering what to do? All I do is live to work right now and I just needed to see a light at the end of the tunnel. What this weekend made me realize is that my true passion is weddings! I love what I do so much and even though it is really hard work and not easy all the time it is truly where my heart is and what I want to be doing! I have the BEST business partner in the whole world and we are such an amazing team! I feel that everything in life happens for a reason and God has a plan! I know that resigning from the Fairmont last May was the right thing to do and that I have a bigger calling! The Fairmont gave me a lot of things and helped me to pave the way for this amazing career and I know it is time to move on and cut the safety strap and do this full time! It is scary but I know Em and I can do it and I know we will be successful! Yesterday showed me so many things! I can't wait to share the photos with you all!

Here are a few things we did...

Plexiglas the pool with amazing lighting that changed colors and had lounge furniture that looked like it was floating over the pool. An amazing Ice Bar for the Seafood display!
Carpeted the tent 5800 sq feet with white carpet and draped the the tent with a sheer white fabric...Over 25 chandeliers hanging from the ceiling....created 4 different lounges each with a different look but a common theme! A Grooms Cake that was the bride and grooms two dogs that couldn't travel from Virginia to the wedding...and the most AMAZING wedding dress I have ever seen in my life! I fell in love with the dress!! It was truly spectacular and I know what I am doing what I should be doing with my life!!!

Today is my relaxation day and boy am I enjoying every minute of it!!!

It has been an interesting week to say the least! I have learned so much about life and people I don't even know where to begin but as the saying goes when life hands you lemons make lemonade! I always rise above any situation I have been given and I will do that this time too! It is so funny how some people are! You just can't trust anyone and you always have to look out for yourself! If there is ever any advice I can give anyone it is this....Always look out for you and ALWAYS trust your gut! Stick to the decisions you make as they are usually the best ones! :)

On a side note the baby is doing great! :) We are 20 weeks already and getting so excited to meet cutie! :) Time is flying by! I am sure in a few months I won't be saying that but I am working like crazy and feeling so good! I can't be more blessed with how I feel and what I am able to do! I never thought it would be this easy! Granted my job is tough and some days are really long but I am pulling through! :)

We Might Be Calling This Home Soon~

So we just made an offer on this house! Nick and I have had our eye on this house for awhile and as luck should have it we called today and the deal that was going on, on this house just fell through! We just submitted the offer today and should know shortly! We just love this house so much!!! I so hope we get it!! :) The backyard is so pretty too! :) I can't believe we could be home owners in less than 2 months! SO EXCITING!!!

Also...we went to the doctor today and heard Cutie's heart beat! 150 beats per minute! Cuties is coming along quite nicely!
Next appointment is October 5th right after Nick's birthday! We will get another sonogram at that time! If we were going to find out we would find out at this appointment if Cutie was cooperating! :)

Hello

Well it is me again!
Things are moving along nicely! We go to the doctor next week for our next ultra sound so I have no news really to update on the baby other than my stomach keeps growing and today when I got on the scale I have lost 2lbs. So to date 17 1/2 weeks I have only gained 3lbs! Heck if I knew I would start losing weight I might have started this years ago! Just kidding! :) :)
I hope it is ok that I have only gained 3lbs! I am sure it is but it just doesn't seem like too much but I am not complaining!!!

This past week too Nick and I went to Sacramento and met my dad & mom at Goores! My bedding came in so that was exciting! I showed Nick all around the baby store and showed him some of the treasures I picked out! He couldn't believe all the fun stuff! I think his favorite was the Silicon Bottles! I had never seen those before! They are actually really cool! So that was fun! After Goores we then all headed over to the Elephant Bar and met my second cousin for lunch! It was a great lunch and so nice to see Dianna! She just found out she has to have a very simliar heart surgery that my father had this past March! She goes to the doctor on September 2nd and we find out when she will be admitted to Mercy in Sacramento! The good news is Mercy is such an amazing hospital and they did such a great job with my dad so I know she will be in good hands!

Well other than a fun trip to Sac...that is about all that is going on with us!
Oh..and I almost forgot! Emily and Travis are coming up tomorrow for a wine dinner and they are going to stay the night with us and we will spend the day together on Sunday! I am so excited to see them and so happy they live so close now!!!!! It is a dream!!!

Hello! Any body there?

Sorry it has taken so long for me to post again! I just never have the time! A lot has been going on! Nick and I have both been busy with work because it is our busy season but I did find time to get away last week to spend a few days in Yuba City with my Mom and Dad! It was so nice to go home for a visit! I hadn't been home since before I found out I was pregnant so it was a much needed trip home! Mom and I went baby shopping one day at Goore's and found some great little treasures for the baby! We even picked out the bedding and furniture! There are just so many gadgets I just don't know how all you mom's do it! What I have come to realize is that there is a gadget for everything! It is almost absurd! I think the kicker was the sleep sack that helps prevent SIDS. That almost put me over the edge when I saw that! Truly I don't know how my sister and I ever survived and made it to adulthood without all these gadgets that help prevent all these horrible things! I will tell you something I won't be a sucker for it! :) I can still be a good mom and not have to "BUY" into these claims. You know my mom told me that when she came home from the hospital with me she carried me home in the car, yes that is right you heard me correctly she carried me home on her lap in the car...and I am ALIVE to talk about it! Can you believe it? If that happened now days they would have thrown the book at her and she most likely would have been classified as a horrible mother! Whatever! My mother was the best and she never did anything to endanger our lives it is just that there is a rule or reason for everything and I am sure these rules are good and they are there to keep all of us safe but sometimes it just gets so ridiculous and we have become this over paranoid society! I know I am being pretty vocal and expressing my opinions but it is my blog and it was pretty funny going baby shopping....Oh yes..and the baby wipe warmer! That was another one that had me cracking up! Heaven forbid the baby has a room temperature wipe better keep the bum nice and warm! :) Ok...enough babbling...I did have fun and registered for some fun things!

Nick and I both are getting so excited for Cutie's arrival! I have also been known to call Cutie Baby Dolata lately! :) I love the fact that we are NOT going to find out what we are having! Oh..I don't think I have announced that yet on our blog! Yep that is right Nick and I are not going to find out! After finally convincing Nick that we had to find out because I needed to plan, I woke up one morning and woke Nick up and said "Sweets...I don't want to know what we are having" He said "Seriously?" I said "yes, you are right there aren't really any true surprises in life and you know how I love surprises and well I can still plan for the baby without knowing" So since we made that decision it is more and more exciting to me! I even told my mom who I thought would be upset that we weren't finding out and she was actually really excited to and really like the thought of that! :) So all is good! Baby is doing great! We go in a week for our next check up! I am 4months and 1 week and I am starting to show! I know I should post some photos however I still feel like I just look fat not pregnant. So maybe at 5 months I will take a photo and post it! :)
So other than a quick trip home to see friends and family that is about all that is going on with us! We still have not heard on the house we made an offer on! It has almost been 6 weeks and I am quite confused as to why they call them a "SHORT SALE" and not a "LONG SALE" but Nick and I are patient! We have looked at a lot of other homes but still love the first one we saw! We are still holding out too that maybe a cute house in our price range will come on the market in Sonoma but so far no such luck! :(

Well here is a Baby Find that actually my mom found and I really like this for a baby bag! I even think it isn't too feminine that Nick could use it too! :) I have some more finds but I will post them later! Also...if you don't know my sister re-launced www.thelilpeanutpatch.com It is better than ever and I find myself reading it every day now that I am going to be a mom! I just hope I win one of her giveaways here soon!!! :) and maybe one day Cutie will be the Lil Peanut of the Week!!! So please if you haven't checked out her blog then head on over! So a little about this "baby find" ...When I was living in NYC and would walk to all my destinations I noticed these strollers everywhere! I just loved walking through Central Park and seeing all the moms' with their bugaboos! I always said I want to have one when I have a baby! I thought they were so cute, very practical and well I just loved the name! BUGABOO! I know it is all about marketing but how cute is that name? I also remember having lunch one day with my mom on Burlingame Avenue on a visit to California for my cousins wedding and a red Bugaboo rolled by! I told my mom..."when I have a baby I have to have this stroller!" Well in almost 5 years my thoughts still have not changed! The only thing is what color do I want? I love them all! I really like the lime green but think I would get sick of it but who knows! I know it is a splurge but the baby has to have a cute, safe stroller! So my baby find this week is a Bugaboo!!!

Still Sick

Well this is day 3 of being sick and it is so not fun! I just don't do "being sick" well. I am sure most people do not but I just don't like it! I have been in my bed and doing absolutely NOTHING except trying to get rest and sleep so I can feel better! I am so bored but have no energy or desire to do anything! I just want to feel better! :( Supposedly I have Viral Bronchitis and I really have to take it easy due to being pregnant and all but I would do anything to feel better!
I have been doing a good job of drinking a lot of fluids! (7) 32oz bottles of Gatorade in 2 1/2 days! I am living on wheat toast and that is about all! Today I tried some grapes and they actually tasted good! Maybe that is a good sign that I am feeling better? I have lost 8 1/2 lbs! I weigh less than when I first got pregnant! I hope that is ok? I am sure it is mostly water weight! Baby should be A-Ok as long as I don't get a fever and take care of myself! As I have been lying here bored out of my mind I have thought about friends that have been on bed rest and thought to myself..."I don't know how they do it" I have just been in bed for a few days and am going crazy! I sure hope that bed rest is not in my future! I don't know how I would handle it?
Well I am praying tomorrow I will hopefully start to be back to my old self!!
Sorry for the venting post on my illness but as you can see I have a lot of time on my hands and running out of books to read and websites to visit. Oh..I am going to be updating my Baby Finds on the right hand side today so check them out if you want! :)

What have we been up to? Read More...

Well things have been non-stop for Nick and I. We are entering our busy time of the year so things are just going to get busier! We were able to take a nice little 4 day mini vacation and went up to Alta to visit with Nick's Aunt and Uncle Bill and Linda! It was so nice going to Alta and spending time with them! We just love going up there! We forgot there was a Christmas Tree Farm next to their property so we thought maybe this year we would go up and cut our tree as Nick and I have never done that before!
After Alta we then headed up to Tahoe for the Ghiggeri Annual Tahoe Vacation! This was our first time going as Nick and I are always working or have lived in other states! It was so fun to go up and spend time with My Aunt and Uncle and Cousins and their kids!! It is always so nice to be around family!!! Unfortunately the last day there I started to get sick and have been really sick for the last two days! I ended up going to the "ER" last night and I have Viral Bronchitis! Unbelievable! How did I get this? I know because I just go, go, go...and then I relax and it all catches up to me! My biggest concern was Cutie...Since I have never been pregnant before I was unaware of what might or could happen to the baby! It was scary because you try to take such good care of yourself and then you get sick and have no control! I have lost about 8lbs and hopefully that is ok...but I am taking care of myself, getting lots of sleep and drinking lots of fluids! I am praying this will be a short illness because unfortunately I have so much work to do and it is really hard to be sick during wedding season!!!

Last week we went to the doctor for our 12 week appointment and to see Cutie aka Baby "D" and he/she is growing quite nicely! Actually cutie was doing somersaults like crazy! It was hilarious! Everything looked good and cutie is progressing quite nicely! It is so fun to see cutie and the growth and progress!

We are also redesigning our blog! I am really excited about it and it should launch tomorrow! Maybe tonight if she gets it done! I can't wait for you all to see it!!!

To Know or Not to Know...That is the Question

Ok....so I am having a really hard time. I for the most part of my life have always thought that when I was pregnant I would find out what I was having! Well....Nick has thrown a little wrench into this equation and being married and in a relationship with someone you have to compromise and give and take. Nick is really set on being surprised the day the baby is born and I am really set on knowing so I can plan accordingly. I do agree that there really aren't too many surprises in life and this is one of those times where we could be really surprised! As much as I love surprises I love surprises for other people! :) :)
I am trying to convince myself that waiting is ok but then there is a part of me that doesn't want a green/yellow nursery and everything in green or yellow? What to do oh what to do?
I thought I would blog about it since I have pretty much decided that this blog is going to be the journal of what Nick and I are going through, through the pregnancy and awaiting the arrival of cutie!
Next week we go for our 3 month check up so that should be really fun and exciting to see how much cutie has grown!
Well I am sure we will decide one way or another and maybe I can convince Nick to want to find out and maybe he can convince me to just wait and be surprise! Either way we are so excited for Cutie and it will be surprise to know what he or she is!!! We love this little baby so much already!!!

I had one of the best days/nights in a long time! It was so fun! Jen, Sam, Liz, Cheri and Patti came over to Sonoma and we had so much fun! We went to Chandon for lunch and my fabulous husband took such good care of us! The lunch was delicious! After Chandon I took the girls wine tasting to ZD and Alpha Omega Winery in Napa. Cutie and I drank water but boy did we have fun and so many great laughs! I actually just met Cheri and Patti for the first time and it was as if we had all known each other our entire lives! I love it when you meet friends like that!! That makes life and friendships so much fun!
After Napa I took the girls over the Oakville Grade to save on time as they wanted to go to the Ledson Wine Bar on the Square! So that was our next stop! We had a great time at Ledson...a nice Old Vine Zin and a Pineapple Cranberry Juice for me! SO exciting! HA HA .....then a delicious cheese platter! After Ledson we worked up a nice appetite and could not believe the time! It was 8:00pm...so off to the Red Grape one of our Favorites for delicious Flatbread, Salad, and Gorgonzola, Roasted Garlic Flatbread appetizers...it was so yummy!
After dinner we checked in to the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and everyone put on their suits and bathrobes and headed to the lobby bar and pool for a night cap! This morning we all got up a little too early and had a fabulous Spa Morning! I just wish this little trip could have gone on and on and on! It was so great! I am so looking forward to our next outing which will be in March for Sonoma Barrel Tasting! Can't wait girls and Baby Cutie will be a little over a month old! Wow Wee! Time will fly!!

Journal?

So since I am really bad at keeping a journal these days I thought I would use the blog for this! I too am also contemplating going private now that the little one is on it's way! I am going to decide in the next few weeks so if you read my blog and want to still read it let me know and comment on my blog so I can add your email to my approved readers.

So this weekend really did me in more than I thought! Yesterday I went into work for a few hours because I had site tours and then I came home and literally stayed in bed and slept all afternoon till it was bedtime...then I couldn't sleep and I was uncomfortable and just felt weird! I finally fell asleep around 1am and then woke up all night! The one thing with being pregnant is I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and then I am up for an hour or two just lying here thinking about everything! Is this Gods way of preparing me to waking up in the night with the baby??? I don't know but so not something I am use to! I have also noticed that my memory isn't that great! I forget things really easily! That is frustrating! I really hate it when I go to do something and I can't remember for the life of me what I was doing and why I was doing it?

Today I stayed home from work because I am still exhausted and don't feel 100% and DO NOT want to get sick! I think I will be fine after today but I have to stop pushing myself so much! It is really hard for me but I have to do it!!!

Also...I some how connected my blog to my facebook page and now it post on there! Does anyone know how to delete it? I don't want my blog posting on my facebook page and I have to keep deleting it just as soon as I do a post!

Happy Belated 4th of July

Well this year we didn't really get to celebrate the 4th of July~ :(
I had a huge wedding at Kunde Winery and it was pretty intense. I had the opportunity to work with a fabulous wedding planner Sasha Souza. It was a pretty amazing event and I learned a lot. It was a long weekend however! Friday I worked from 8:30am-9pm and Saturday I worked from 8am-11pm. It was pretty intense and it is funny even though I am pregnant sometimes I forget that and I still try to work as hard as I normally do and do the things I normally would do but this weekend was pretty hard on me! I have been on the sofa most of the today because I am so physically and mentally exhausted. I just can't do anything. I know it is ok to lay around all day but if you know me you know that I work so hard and I hate laying around but today I just gave into it. I had to. I have to take care of myself and cutie. This week I am really going to take it easy as I have another wedding this coming weekend on Saturday.

So I was kinda bummed we didn't get to BBQ and have people over for the 4th. Usually since we have moved here my mom and dad come over for the 4th and we BBQ and then watch the fireworks in our front yard. Next year I can't wait to take cutie to the 4th of July parade in Sonoma and to the All American BBQ and watch the bands! It will be fun! I really love the fact that Sonoma reminds me so much of Small Town America and the entire community gets into the holiday! I left the wedding yesterday briefly to go home and get a coat as it was getting really cool and I could not believe all the people in their front yards bbqing and partying it was like a town party! It was so cool! Normally I never see that because we stay at our house and bbq and don't deal with all of that but it was neat to see! I can't wait for next year!!!

As you can see "CUTIE" is on his or her side...so you have to turn the computer to your left to see him or her! If you turn him or her to your right he/she looks like a rubber ducky! Maybe that will be her/his favorite toy! Anyway....this is 7 weeks and 3 days!!!!
Mommy is doing great! Feeling fabulous other than tired but so far so good! This pregnancy is a piece of cake....may change as time goes on but I really do feel good!
A few things Nick and I have discussed lately! Names....Boy Names...Girl Names....hmmm really don't have any I am sure we will think of some and that will change a million times between now and the arrival of "CUTIE" but nothing that we love just yet. Finding out what we are having...I want to know sooooooooo bad since I am a planner and all I really want to know! I want to buy things that are boy/girl specific and not just yellow or green. I want to decorate the nursery too! Nick says NO he says that it is the only surprise in life and wants to be surprised when "CUTIE" is born.....AYE AYE AYE....I have to work on him as I really want to find out and if any of you know me it will kill me not to know but I think that is part of the fun for Nick......HMMMMM
So on July 21st we go for another doctor visit and I get another sonogram! I love it that my doctor is giving us so many! This will be our 3rd! Whoo hooo!!! Nick wishes we could get pictures every week and I told him we aren't Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise! :)

Kell & Nick....

So...I know I have been the WORST blogger lately but it is just so hard to find the time! It is wedding season and I am busier then ever...! While wondering about what to blog about and what it is I thought you all should know about this I came across this poem!

YES THAT IS RIGHT!! NICK AND I ARE EXPECTING!!!!!! I am a little over 8 weeks pregnant and we got to see little "cutie" this past week and he/she heartbeat was 156beats per minute and the doctor said we are doing fabulous!!!! Nick and I cannot be more thrilled!!! The Dolata Family is growing! I feel fabulous and haven't had an ounce of morning sickness so I think I am almost out of the woods for that! Other than being really tired so far this is a piece of cake! I am so excited to share our news with everyone!!!

I hope you all are doing well and I will post a photo of the baby soon! I just have to get it on my computer from the phone!!!

Truffles Goes to the Vet~

So Truffles has been acting a little strange for the last few months so Nick and I decided it was time for her to go see the Vet....I have had Truffles for a long time 10 years and I wanted to make sure she is a happy, healthy kitty! I am sure some of this has to do with the fact that we have LouLee now and she isn't the only cat in the house but none the less it is off to Dr. Forsythe we go...
As you can see by the photo she doesn't LOVE riding in the car!!
However....she loved exploring the Dr's office! She really liked her doctor!!!
She especially loved the little cut out in the cat bed and she jumped into the garbage can and sat there and stared at us! It was pretty hilarious! She did a great job! She needs her teeth cleaned and had to have her shots but other than that she is doing A-Ok...she is back to her spunky self and loves to hisss at LouLee!
Ok...I know I need to get a life! I am blogging about my cats! HA HA I am sure things will get more exciting in the coming post I HOPE!

Cassidy's 2nd Birthday-Reno, Nevada

I went up to Reno for Cassi's 2nd birthday! It was so much fun! Cassidy turned 2 years old and Dominic and Cassi are only a few weeks apart! They are so cute together too! You would think they were brother and sister!
After the party we had another fabulous Dinner at Gary's house!! Nick wasn't able to come as he started his new job and couldn't take the day off so I drove up for the day and dinner and came back! It was so nice to be with my family again!!!

Dominic's 2nd Birthday-Reno, Nevada

In April Nick and I went up to Reno for Dominic's 2nd Birthday! Dominic is my cousin Kristin and Bo's son! We had such a great time celebrating his 2nd birthday and eating delicious cupcakes!!!
After Dom's birthday party we went over to Little Gary's for Dinner. It was a great weekend with our family! Happy 2nd Birthday Dom!!! We love you!!!!

Mother's Day 2009

Happy Mother's Day Mom!~
This year mom came over for Mother's Day and we took her to TraVigne in St. Helena for dinner! It was a fun night!

The next day we stopped at Ceja Vineyards to find mom some great Rose and White Wine and Ceja has the Best Sauv Blanc and Rose!! We had a great time and had a chance to see Amelia Ceja too!!! We just love her!!!
